PHIL WHITLOCK, the England captain ranked fourth in the country, was yesterday made the top seed in the men's event of next week's English National Championships in Manchester, which has been boycotted by 17 leading players. The top two, British national champion Peter Marshall and Chris Walker, will be playing instead in the Super Series final in Zurich.
