SUE WRIGHT'S attempt at the No 1 position in the world, following the retirement of the world champion Susan Devoy, was frustrated when she lost the final of the Canadian Open in Calgary. The 22- year-old British champion, from Kent, lost 9-7, 9-3, 9-1 to Michelle Martin, of Australia, in 41 minutes.
