BELGIUM'S Jean-Michel Saive beat Sweden's Jan-Ove Waldner, the Olympic champion and top seed, in the men's singles semi-finals at the world championships in front of his home supporters in Gothenburg yesterday. In today's final, Saive meets France's Jean-Philippe Gatien. Earlier, South Korea's Hyun Jung-hwa won the women's singles title with an emphatic win over Chen Jing, of Taiwan.
