MICHAEL STICH, of Germany, beat the defending champion, Andrei Medvedev, 1-6, 6-1, 6-4 to reach the final of the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart. Hewill face Sweden's Magnus Gustafsson, who beat Stich's compatriot and Davis Cup team-mate, Marc Gollner, 6-4, 6-3.
