CHRIS PRIDHAM, of Canada, beat Bjorn Borg to prevent a second-round match between the 36-year-old Swede and another former Wimbledon champion, Jimmy Connors, at the Los Angeles tournament. Connors, who is 40 next month, beat his fellow American Dave Randall.
