BORIS BECKER and Michael Stich, the former Wimbledon champions, both had straight-set victories in opening singles to give Germany a 2-0 lead over Belgium in their Davis Cup World Group relegation play-off yesterday. Germany will keep their position in the 16-team World Group by taking Saturday's doubles.
