JIMMY CONNORS was yesterday fined dollars 600 ( pounds 350) for hitting a ball into the crowd during his second-round defeat by Israel's Gilad Bloom in the Israel Classic. Connors had argued with the umpire over whether a ball had burst during a rally. The umpire conceded to Connors; Connors lost the replayed point and said afterwards: 'The umpire should be taken out and shot.'
