PU LINGTANG, a Chinese walker, broke the men's 20km walk world record in China's national championships in Peking on Thursday. The 23-year-old's time of 1 hour 18min 3sec took 10 seconds off the previous world record of 1:18:13, set by Pavol Blazek, from Czechoslovakia, in Germany in 1990.
