THE International Amateur Athletic Federation has lodged an appeal at the US Federal Court in Cincinnati, Ohio, seeking to overturn the dollars 27.3m ( pounds 18.6m) award to the American sprinter, Butch Reynolds, who won the damages after he was banned for a positive drug test in 1990. The IAAF upheld his two-year ban, which kept Reynolds out of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
