GRIGORI YEGOROV, the former Olympic pole vault bronze medallist, won gold for Kazakhstan at the Asian championships yesterday after a duel with his compatriot, Igor Potapovich. Yegorov, the 1988 Seoul bronze medallist, cleared 5.70 metres.
