ATHLETICS

England will field a strong men's team in Sunday's Bupa Great Welsh Run over 10,000m against Wales and Scotland in Cardiff. Gary Staines, eighth in last weekend's Bupa International 5,000m in Portsmouth, teams up with the top fell-runner Keith Anderson and the experienced Carl Thackery.

Delillah Asiago and Josphat Machuka of Kenya ran away with the elite titles on Monday in Colorado, winning the 17th Bolder Boulder 10km road race. Asiago shattered the women's record by more than a minute, while Machuka knocked 48 seconds off the men's mark.
