Sammy Sosa of the Chicago Cubs hit his 63rd homer of the season on Wednesday, drawing him level with the St Louis Cardinals' Mark MaGwire in their record- breaking race to finish as top home run scorer in a single season. Sosa's effort inspired his side to a 6-3 win over the San Diego Padres.
