Newcastle Comets have signed the Canadian centre Scot Paterson for their first campaign in their new Newcastle Arena home.

Sky TV have secured the rights to cover the Budweiser League, Championships and 7UP Trophy for the next three seasons.

The NBA yesterday released its 1995-96 schedule, optimistic that it will be able to reach a collective bargaining agreement with players and end the current lockout before disrupting the regular season. The defending champions Houston Rockets will host the Golden State Warriors in one of 14 games on opening night, 3 November.
