Johnny Montantes, a Las Vegas junior welterweight, died on Sunday, two days after he underwent brain surgery. The 28-year-old was knocked out in the fifth round of Friday's bout against James Crayton in Las Vegas.

Birmingham's Robert McCracken has a new opponent for his World Boxing Council middleweight title final eliminator. He had been due to meet America's Stefan Willett but will now face France's European middleweight champion Hassine Cherifi on a date to be arranged.
