Danny Nunez, of the Dominican Republic, who was rushed to hospital with head injuries after a fight in Rayong, eastern Thailand on Sunday, was discharged yesterday but advised not to fight again. The defending champion, Saen Sor Ploenchit of Thail and, knocked him out in the 11th round of a World Boxing Association flyweight title fight.

Jeff Malcolm, of Australia, the World Boxing Federation welterweight champion, has signed to make two defences of his title within a month. The 38-year-old will first defend against William Magahin, of the Philippines, over 12 rounds in Iloilo City, south of Manila, on 25 February. He has then agreed to fight Suwito Lagola, of Indonesia. in Medan, Indonesia in late March if he beats Magahin. Malcolm is the oldest man to win any version of the world welterweight title.
