NICKY PIPER retained his World Boxing Organisation Penta-Continental super- middleweight title against Kenya's Chris Joseph Sande in Swansea on Saturday when the referee stopped the bout after the ninth of 12 scheduled rounds. Afterwards, the promoter Frank Warren offered pounds 100,000 for the British and Commonwealth champion, Henry Wharton, to fight Piper.
