HERVE JACOB, of France, won the European featherweight title in his bout against the holder Maurizio Stecca, of Italy, in Boulogne on Saturday. The referee stopped the fight in the 11th round when the Italian sustained a slight injury. He was apparently outpointing the Frenchman and the Italian team protested, but the fight was awarded to Jacob.
