CHRIS EUBANK makes his seventh defence of his World Boxing Organisation super-middleweight title against Belfast's Ray Close, the new European champion, in Glasgow on 15 May. In two other WBO title fights on the same bill, Scotland's Pat Clinton defends the flyweight championship against South Africa's Jake Matlala, and Paul Weir, another Scot, meets Mexico's Fernando Martinez for the vacant straw-weight crown.

ANDY TILL, the British light-middleweight champion, is the new No 1 challenger for the European title, held by France's Laurent Boudouani. The European Boxing Union have ordered the contest to take place by 30 June.

THE unbeaten Venezuelan, Crisanto Espana, makes his first defence of the World Boxing Association welterweight title against Panama's Rodolfo Aguilar in Belfast tonight.
