Wasim Akram's Pakistan World Cup squad were yesterday summoned before a judge heading a commission investigating match-rigging allegations. The commission will hear testimony from Wasim and 13 other players, who are expected to cross-examine the alleged bookmaker Salim Perevez, and the discarded fast bowler Ata-ur-Rehman, both of whom made match-fixing allegations.

Rushdie Magiet became South Africa's first non-white convenor of selectors yesterday when he was appointed ahead of three other national selectors, including Mike Procter and Clive Rice.
