Stuart Law, the Essex batsman, has been voted the Fleming Professional Cricketers Association Player of the Year. David Sales, the Northamptonshire batsman, received the CGU Young Player of the Year award.

Darren Stevens, the Leicestershire batsman, has signed a new two-year contract at Grace Road. The 22-year-old opener scored 562 runs last season, including a maiden first-class century against Sussex at Arundel.
