The International Cricket Council announced yesterday that the total prize-money for the 1999 World Cup, to be held in England, will be $1m (pounds 600,000), with the winners receiving around pounds 200,000.
Cardigan Connor, the Hampshire fast bowler who was forced to miss most of last season with a knee injury, is confident he will be fully fit when he rejoins the squad next week.
