THE role of the third umpire during Australia's forthcoming tour of South Africa will be expanded to include adjudicating on boundary decisions. The official will use television replays to rule whether a ball has reached the boundary or had gone for four or six.

GRAHAM DILLEY, the fast bowler who played 39 Tests for England, has been appointed head groundsman and cricket professional at Cheltenham College.

THE former England and Middlesex batsman, Graham Barlow, is to coach the Devon League club, Torquay.

GEOFF ARNOLD, who left his job as Surrey coach last month, will take up a part-time post with Gloucestershire staff next season.
