COLIN WELLS, the Sussex all-rounder joined Derbyshire yesterday on a three-year contract. Wells, 33, had a year of his contract to run with Sussex after 14 years with the county. He made his Sussex debut in 1979, was capped in 1982 and had his benefit this summer. Wells, whose younger brother, Alan, is Sussex captain, has scored 1,000 runs in a season on six occasions but injuries have handicapped him in recent years.
