Denmark's Rolf Sorensen won the first leg of the Tour of Denmark yesterday. Sorensen, of the Rabobank team, took the leader's yellow jersey at the end of the 186 kilometer leg from Aalborg to Aarhus.

Marco Pantani, the Italian cyclist who was forced to drop out of the Giro d'Italia after failing a dope test, hopes to overcome a knee injury in time for a comeback at the world championships in October, his Mercatone Uno team said yesterday.
