The Dutch TVM team, implicated in the drugs scandal during the Tour de France, yesterday withdrew from next week's Tour of Denmark.

The British Cycling Federation president Brian Cookson has called for drug takers to be given harsher penalties. Currently cyclists must be found guilty on three occasions before being thrown out of the sport.
