Michael Whitaker gained last-minute qualification for this month's final of the Volvo World Cup in Helsinki when finishing sixth in Gothenburg on Sunday. His brother, John (who had qualified for all 19 of the previous finals) may be given a wild card for the Helsinki contest. Geoff Billington will be the only other British finalist.
