Hearts have awarded their chief executive, Chris Robinson, a new two- year contract despite a slump in results on the field. Robinson has been criticised by Hearts supporters for what they see as a failure of the Edinburgh club to invest in sufficient new players.

Colchester United are giving trials to a Brazilian midfielder, Jose Antunes Fumaca, and a French defender Fabrice Richard, formerly with Martigues.

Walsall have switched their top-of-the-table Second Division home game against Fulham from Saturday, 27 March to Tuesday, 4 May because the Londoners have three players on duty with Wales.
