The Republic of Ireland's Group Eight European Championship qualifying game with Macedonia at Lansdowne Road next year has been moved forward to Wednesday 9 June from Sunday 10 October. The original fixture clashed with World Cup rugby games at the venue.

The Football Conference club Northwich Victoria have named, Mark Gardiner, the former Swindon and Crewe full-back, as caretaker manager following Phil Wilson's departure to Stalybridge Celtic.

Queen's Park Rangers have signed Bradford City's Swedish striker Robert Steiner on a month's loan with a view to a permanent move.
