HEARTS FC has been bought by Chris Robinson, who runs a catering company, and Leslie Deans, a property seller, after they acquired a controlling 50.05 per cent stake for pounds 2m from the chairman Wallace Mercer.

BERNARD TAPIE, the former president of Olympique Marseille who was banned from any official post at the club following allegations of match-rigging, has begun an appeal to the French National Olympic Committee, the country's most powerful sports arbitration body.
