ARGENTINA retained the Copa America when they beat Mexico 2-1 in the final in Guayaquil, Ecuador, on Sunday with two well-struck opportunist goals from Gabriel Batistuta, the Fiorentina striker, in the second half. Benjamin Galindo had equalised for Mexico, competing in their first Copa America, from the penalty spot.
SEVILLE have named Luis Aragones, the former coach of Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Real Betis and Espanol, as their new coach.
LAZIO are negotiating a pounds 6m deal for Alen Boksic, Marseille's Croatian striker.
