MANCHESTER CITY have allowed Kare Ingebrigtsen, their unsettled Norwegian international, to rejoin his former club, Rosenborg Trondheim, on a three- month loan.

DUNDEE UNITED are negotiating to sign the Partizan Belgrade defender, Gordan Petric, for about pounds 650,000, and are talking terms with Paul Lambert of St Mirren and Craig Brewster of Raith Rovers, who have both been training at Tannadice Park this week.

IAN REDFORD, the former Ipswich Town, Rangers and Dundee United midfield player, is the new manager of Brechin City.

CORK CITY, the champions of the League of Ireland, have named Damien Richardson, formerly in charge at Gillingham, as their new manager.

TRANMERE ROVERS cancelled last night's friendly at Altrincham and today's reserve-team friendly at Everton as a mark of respect following the sudden death in hospital on Thursday of Alison Coyne, the 28-year-old wife of Rovers' Republic of Ireland international, Tommy Coyne. Mrs Coyne recently gave birth to the couple's third child.
