RUUD GULLIT, Milan's Dutch international forward, has agreed to a one- year extension to his contract with Milan, the Italian Serie A leaders. His current contract expires next month.

PETER WRAGG, the manager of Macclesfield Town, is to leave the GM Vauxhall Conference club after the board decided not to renew his contract - despite last weekend's victory at Wycombe Wanderers which saved the team from relegation.

HONG KONG claimed an unexpected 2-1 win over Bahrain in a World Cup qualifier in Beirut yesterday - the colony's first success in the tournament since they beat China in 1985. The match, in a ground protected by hundreds of troops, was the first international sports event in Lebanon since civil war began in 1975. The home country drew 2-2 with India in the day's second match. A total of 10 qualifiers will be played in Beirut; the teams then go to South Korea next month for the second phase of matches in the group.
