West Bromwich Albion have cut short the loan of the Hull goalkeeper, Alan Fettis, as their regular keeper, Stuart Naylor, has recovered from a gashed knee.

Birmingham's Welsh international midfielder, Jason Bowen, will be out of action for three months after having surgery to remove a cyst from behind a knee.

Diego Maradona and his former personal manager were acquitted yesterday of drug trafficking after an Italian court ruled the accusations were unfounded. The case dated back to 1989, when Maradona played in Italy with Napoli. Meanwhile, Maradona yesterday threatened to leave his troubled Argentine club, Boca Juniors, if they hire the former Argentina coach, Carlos Bilardo.
