Larry Gilbert, twice a winner on the US Senior PGA Tour who was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer last September, died yesterday in Lexington, Kentucky. He was 55.

The Senior British Open is to remain at Royal Portrush Golf Club for the next two years. This year's tournament will be played from 6 to 9 August.
