NICK PRICE, the top money-winner in professional golf last year, has had his Zimbabwean citizenship put under scrutiny. Sports officials have opposed letting him play for Zimbabwe until an immigration department inquiry clears him to regain full citizenship. Price was born in South Africa and brought up in Rhodesia, which became Zimbabwe, but he forfeited his Zimbabwean nationality after failing to visit the country for seven years after independence in 1980. Dumiso Dabengwa, Zimbabwe's home affairs minister, said yesterday that Price had yet to file an application for citizenship.
