CARNOUSTIE, the Scottish course which has been left off the Open championship rota since Tom Watson's play-off win over Jack Newton in 1975, is hoping to stage a European tour event in 1995. A feasibility study is being set up and both Watson and Gary Player, the winner of the 1968 Open there, have spoken in favour of the course hosting a championship again.
