Nick Faldo slipped out of contention with a 69, leaving him 11 strokes off the pace on 206 after the third round of the GTE Byron Nelson Classic in Irving, Texas, as the South African, Ernie Els, raced into a three- stroke lead. The US Open champion included six birdies in his five-under- par 65.
