AN outbreak of looting soured the Montreal Canadiens' celebration of their Stanley Cup triumph on Wednesday. After the Canadiens had completed a 4-1 final series win over the Los Angeles Kings, thousands of fans thronged central Montreal. Cars were overturned and shop windows smashed. In the wake of the Kings' defeat, Wayne Gretzky, the NHL's most prolific goalscorer, said he was considering retirement.
