ICE HOCKEY

The NHL's two top scorers, Jaromir Jagr of Pittsburgh and Eric Lindros of Philadelphia, along with goaltender Dominik Hasek of Buffalo, have been nominated for the League's Most Valuable Player trophy. The winner will be announced on 6 July in Toronto.

Claude Dumas, the French-Canadian forward, has joined Telford Tigers after Cardiff Devils decided against extending his one-year contract.
