NIGEL MANSELL broke his own unofficial IndyCar lap record for the Laguna Seca Raceway in California during testing with the Newman-Haas team. Mansell recorded a time of 1min 10.47sec, improving on the 1:10.80 he set last year on the 2.214- mile track.
