DAMON HILL recorded the fastest lap at Silverstone as teams completed testing changes to the underside of their cars to comply with new safety rules. Hill clocked 1min 26.96sec in the Williams-Renault. Michael Schumacher was second fastest at 1:27.28 in the Benetton-Ford.
