The Australian rider Garry McCoy will see out the 500cc grand prix season with Yamaha after being drafted in as a replacement for the New Zealander Simon Crafar. The 28-year-old McCoy competed on the non-works Yamaha for the last two races after the team parted with Crafar, who has had a disappointing season after winning last year's British Grand Prix.

The Italian Luca Cadalora will be back in action for MuZ Weber in this weekend's German 500cc motorcycling Grand Prix at the Sachsenring. the former 125cc and 250cc world champion has fully recovered from a rib fracture sustained in a fall in practice for last month's Dutch Grand Prix in Assen.
