CARL FOGARTY took the lead in the World Superbike Championship yesterday when an appeal tribunal in Geneva disqualified New Zealand's Aaron Slight from one of his two second places in the opening round at Donington Park for alleged use of an illegal fuel. With three rounds and six races remaining, Fogarty (218 points) now heads the table from Slight (207) and the reigning champion, Scott Russell (203). The next round is in Mugello, Italy, on Sunday.
