A record entry of 188 was announced yesterday for the British RAC Rally, the final round of the 1994 world championship from 20-23 November. Didier Auriol, of France, driving a Toyota, leads Spain's Carlos Sainz of Subaru by 11 points, and fourth place would assure him of the championship for the first time.
Possum Bourne, of New Zealand, driving a Subaru Impreza 555, maintained his lead yesterday after the fourth day of the Hong Kong-Peking rally. The Asia-Pacific championship leader, Kenneth Eriksson, retired when his Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution hit a tree during the 500km (310 miles) stage to Wuhan, in China's Hubei province.
