Great Britain's women earned a 20-18 victory over Auckland in the second game of their tour of New Zealand. Teresa Bruce, Vicky Studd, Joanne Hewson and Brenda Dobek all scored tries and Dobek kicked two goals as the Britons struck back from a 10-8 half-time deficit.

The First Division leaders, Wakefield Trinity, have sought to ward off Super League clubs by re-signing their promising full-back, Martin Holland, on a new three-year contract.

St Helens have offered two-year contracts to the Gold Coast Chargers half-back Wes Patten and Phil Adamson, the Penrith Panthers forward.
