ALAN JONES, formerly one of Australia's most successful rugby union coaches, yesterday resigned as coach of Balmain, the Sydney club, after three seasons of mediocre results.

OLDHAM yesterday signed Rochdale's New Zealand loose-forward, Mike Kuiti, and snapped up the 22-year-old Great Britain amateur international winger, Martin Holden, from Wigan St Patrick's on a two-year contract.
