South Africa's Coastal Sharks are to appeal against the 18-month suspension handed to the flanker Wickus Van Heerden for biting.
Wasps and Saracens are among several leading clubs who will take part in the 24th Floodlit Sevens competition at Rosslyn Park FC on Wednesday, 6 May. Also competing will be Harlequins, Richmond, London Irish, London Welsh, London Scottish as well as Blackheath, Oxford University, Cambridge University, Pacific Island Barbarians and the hosts, Rosslyn Park.
Ireland will face Argentina in tomorrow's semi-finals of the World Youth Cup after the tournament's disciplinary committee upheld their complaint over South Africa's use of a kicker during the quarter-finals. The Irish lost a penalty shootout 4-3 after the match had finished 17-17, but objected on the grounds that the Springboks used a kicker who had not appeared in the game.
