Dick Best, the former England coach, has reached a private settlement with Harlequins over his claim for unfair dismissal. Best has been out of work since his controversial departure by Quins in May. His case was due to be heard at an industrial tribunal in Croydon yesterday, but the hearing was cancelled following notification that a settlement was imminent. Best, replaced by Jack Rowell after winning 13 of his 17 matches as England's coach, said yesterday: "I am not allowed to comment on the settlement but I can confirm I am still out of work and looking for work."
