THE Australian Rugby Union has said it will defy last week's International Rugby Board ruling to prevent anyone who switched to rugby league from playing rugby union again. The IRB said that rugby league players who had never played union, could play the amateur code by 1996, but former union men who switched to league would still be barred for life from returning.
