SCOTT GIBBS, the Wales and Lions centre, will be out of action for six months. Gibbs underwent surgery yesterday on the detached right knee ligaments he hurt playing for the Barbarians against New Zealand on Saturday. He will remain in hospital for the rest of the week and will be in plaster for a month.

ANDY MOORE, the Cardiff scrum- half, has called for an investigation into an incident during the Heineken League game against Newbridge on Sunday which left him with an eye injury. He will be out for at least three weeks following a clash with James Churcher, the Newbridge scrum-half.
